Receipients of the new Medicare Card need to be aware of a new phone scam. You may recieve a call from people stating they are providing medical information for Medicare receipients. They will ask for your new Medicare Card number for identification.  Do NOT GIVE OUT YOUR NEW NUMBER OVER THE PHONE! The client did not give the scammer any information and told her she would not do such a thing over the phone and hung up.  Many of our clients may not think so quickly, so please be aware and let them know that this is happening.

Another trick is scammers posing as Medicare representatives have already been calling beneficiaries demanding a processing fee. Other fraudsters are telling beneficiaries that they are owed a refund from transactions on their old card and then asking for bank account information to process the reimbursement. Medicare will never ask an enrollee for a bank account number, and no refunds are owed .In any new transition like this, scammers will capitalize on the confusion to trick people,

DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR NEW MEDICARE CARD NUMBER OVER THE PHONE!
